Krista Falk, MSW, L.C.S.W.
Living in this world can be overwhelming, exhausting, and just plain discouraging. Often difficult circumstances plague our experiences down here, as we attempt to live in this sinful, fallen world. It is comforting to know we have a constant companion in Jesus while we face very real challenges that exist in this life.
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33b
I have been doing counseling for many years in a secular setting, and I am so pleased to now be able to openly integrate a Biblical perspective into treatment. Utilizing the Word of God as a foundation for facing problems, and then building upon it with effective skills and support structures, are critical for improving everyday interactions and solving ongoing struggles.
Whether it is a relational struggle with a spouse, child, friend, or co-worker; a personal struggle with anxiety or depression; or more chronic, long-standing experiences of abuse, chronic pain, or addictions – God’s timeless principles, along with professional treatment, can help.
““Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.” Micah 7:8b”
I have worked in many settings, including:
managing care and treatment for children in the foster system
providing treatment for youth on probation
working in the home with at-risk teens and their families
providing sexual abuse counseling for children
implementing behavioral modification treatment for children with autism
coordinating and providing treatment for older adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s
maintaining outpatient treatment for adults and children
dealing with a variety of issues across the lifespan, including providing crisis intervention as necessary
The experiences I have especially enjoyed, and where I feel God has uniquely gifted me, is working with teens and their families. Within this population, I have had extensive experience teaching and implementing effective discipline techniques to improve family functioning and relationships.
I accept Blue Shield/Blue Cross, Tricare and Aetna insurance
